What speed can I expect out of the box? Are there upgrades to get more speed out of it? What would those be? Thanks for your comments. Aug 18, , Be prepared to spend much more time and money than making a proper boat. The clutch needs taking out, the radio box needs replacing, the 'tuned' pipe and 'silencer' are awful, and the engine is far too weedy for that size of hull.
Expect water in the radio box unless you tape it down with duct tape. There are other boats out there that are better and are almost ready to run, just add your own radio. If you are just looking for a big gas boat that is fun to run but nothing you would bring to the racetrack then the BJ 55 is good.
Aug 19, , Thanks for the feedback. I am looking for a fast boat mostly to have fun and race against friends. I have been looking also at the Aquacraft UL1 Superior hydro. I would upgrade to a Grim Racer L40x57 3-blade copper, berylium and titanium prop. Any thoughts on this boat. I have a BJ55 and so far am very happy with it. I did replace the clutch should have done away with the clutch with a WHH Retro. I' am new to RC boating and just learning some setups for the boat. I just play around with friends and run it on the lake no racing.

It is big, bold, loud and a blast to race across the lake. The time from the box to the water is short thanks to the completeness of the design and excellent engineering. Pro Boat - Blackjack 55 Price: Zenoah G26M with tuned pipe Fuel Tank: The large box, The contents were in perfect condition thanks to the well thought out padding and partitioning.
The hull, wing, rudders and stand are further protected in individual plastic bags. The included JR XR3i transmitter is enclosed in it's own box for added padding and protection. The first step, of the very few required to get the boat in the water, is to assemble the stand. The plywood parts are laser etched with "Blackjack 55" and pre-coated to protect them from water and fuel. A small dab of epoxy or thick CA at each of the four joints is all that is needed to make it ready to support the boat.
Even the split tube foam padding is pre-installed at the factory. The model uses an engine driven cooling pump for both the engine itself as well as the exhaust header and tuned pipe coupler.
The pump is driven by a dedicated line tapped to crankcase pressure through the isolator block between the carburetor and engine. The pump has dual intakes and outlets. One side provides cooling for the engine, the other for the exhaust header and pipe. Water is drawn from a pair of pick-up tubes directly in front of the rudders and routed to the pump.
The cool water is then pumped to the engine head and header then the pipe. The now warm water is then dumped back overboard through a pair of outlets attached to the port side of the hull.
You're dealt a pair of nines, while the dealer draws an upcard of 7. It's a multiple deck game with DDAS Doubling-down after split available, and your choice here is to either stand on the hand or split it up. The nines would be split against the dealer's six, and also the eight, as we'll see in a moment. Is it the same case here? Even though you can split and have a pretty strong starting point on two separate hands against the dealer's weakest "pat" upcard, you're going to stand with this hand.
When you come to think of it, on the surface, this play makes sense, since with a hard 18 there's a strong possibility you can beat any hand that can be made out of dealer upcard of 7. This is one of those situations where it doesn't make mathematical sense to get greedy. This represents a gain, so expect to win with the 18, and take no less than a push. Now let's look at that same pair of nines, where the dealer gives himself an eight as the upcard. Here you're pretty much staring a push right in the face.
