Many's the time I've left a table because I either didn't like the vibe that I was getting from the dealer, or the dealer was simply cleaning my clock--which I also don't like, and which is just as good a reason for leaving as a bad vibe is.
The reason I suggest being conservative on tipping at first is because on average, for most players it's very hard to get and maintain a winning position chip-wise at the game, and it's even harder to sustain that position for any length of time remember, I said on average for most players; there are always exceptions. I myself tend to be fairly conservative with tipping at the tables most of the time.
